Hello from Frank at the Fairways
Fun at the Club
Since Joanna and I have moved to the Fairways life has been very busy both socially and professionally, especially for me. Joanna returned to Columbus for the summer and I have been becoming a social butterfly and enjoying every moment. I recently began playing at the Savannah Quarters golf club in the Saturday morning Blitz, a $20 pot game based on a Stableford scoring system. It was confusing but what would you expect for the new guy. My neighbor did join me for this game and we are becoming great friends. He invited me to play another course in the area with his grandson and son-in-law. We again had a great time as the weather has been delightful if not too hot. My game is still rusty from not playing but am looking to hone it this fall and winter. I was invited to play in the annual Backus Children’s Hospital fund raiser at our club see www.MemorialHealth.com .The Chairman of this annual event is a member of our club and an institution in Savannah in raising funds for the hospital. He is a wonderful, generous and giving man who I have seen score an 80 and has had two knee replacements. I have recently been to Happy Hour at our Club at Savannah Quarters and met some great people who have chosen Savannah Quarters to retire too or just enjoy as a second home. I have even met an OSU Buckeye from Columbus.
Fun at First City Club
I have also joined the First City Club which is located downtown on Johnson Square. See www.FirstCityClub.com . First City Club has been a world wind membership so far as I have been to a networking and wine tasting event on Wednesday, a Thursday “Texas Hold Em “night and the traditional Friday night cocktail get together. For $12.95 the Friday night evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres is the best value I have experienced in many years plus about 75-100 attendees where there from all parts of the city. I met a retired PhD, a Neurologist, Oncologist, a Senior VP of Wachovia – Wells Fargo, a Realtor an Appraiser an numerous others looking for camaraderie and fellowship. Needless to say I have been impressed with this new club as I am learning I am only beginning to touch the many events for the membership. I am especially looking for the monthly happy Hour on the Johnson Square. They have a planned cruise that embarked on October 17th and a bus trip to the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Miami Dolphins game in the works. See www.FirstCityClub.com
Fun at a Neighbor’s Poker Night
Been to a couple poker games at a resident’s house in Westbrook. Been great to meet new guys….even another Buckeye. Pot game of $25 gets you in….I have been only a contributor but have enjoyed the camaraderie of the gents I have met. Even though I haven’t won I am learning the game and beginning to sharpen my skills in this Texas Hold Em game.

Hello from Frank at the Fairways Feel free to comment
See, Feel and Touch Them
We are developing 100 ranch-style Condos/TownHomes in West Savannah’s premier amenity community located behind the gates of Westbrook. Our model homes are available for touring and purchase NOW! We welcome the opportunity to show you these homes. You can: “See Them! Feel Them! And Touch Them!”
Seeking the RIGHTSIZED HOME
My play on identifying our Condo/TownHomes as a RIGHTSIZED HOME is done for you our reader whether you are a prospect or a realtor. Please consider the reality of this perspective as you plan, seek or present a new living experience. I do not claim the creativity for coining the phrase RIGHTSIZED HOME but recently read an article about how “Boomers” are finding and seeking this lifestyle. The phraseology perfectly connotes our community in Westbrook. Westbrook signifies charm, upscale lifestyle and McMansion living. However, we at EPCON know that many “Boomers” cannot afford or even if they can afford do not want the cost and commitments associated with a single family residence. In many instances “Boomers” have “Been There and Done That”. Personally, I have experienced this phenomenon as I downsized from the McMansion to my current 4200 square foot residence. To some this may not seem to be downsizing, but believe me it was. I further could not comprehend being comfortable in less than 2000 square feet of living space until I personally experienced the last six months in the Low Country. Boy was I wrong! My point is I have experienced this and know many astute buyers have awakened to this reality and are seeking the lifestyle of the RIGHTSIZED HOME.
McMansion Alternative
As the current housing industry and economy affects many “Boomers” plans to find that dream retirement home or second home; we at The Fairways can provide the alternative to the golf course trophy home. Retirement or a second home purchase can be considered with not only affordable values and amenities, but allow buyers to move forward now to retirement. Consider that our homes can be acquired for 60-75% of what comparable quality will cost in a custom free-standing home. Our RIGHTSIZED HOME offer impressive, cutting-edge living spaces complete with all the designer finishes and upgrades normally found in more expensive McMansions.
Save Your Nest Egg
Consider retaining more of your nest egg to enhance your: personal financial security; spoiling (even more) the grandchildren, traveling and other leisure pursuits.
Our values provide for lower: mortgages (if any); property taxes; utility bills and insurance.
Boomers Drive Trends in this Generation
Values at The Fairways are very attractive as we sell our current inventory of product in Westbrook. These values will increase as we become the fastest selling RIGHTSIZED HOME community in West Savannah. The opportunity to buy now is a once in a lifetime value due to the lowest interest rates in a generation and values that will only increase in the future. We all know the “Boomers” are famous for driving trends and will become the leading edge of a robust market shift towards high end RIGHTSIZED HOMES as the new preferred choice for primary home living. The RIGHTSIZED HOME provides the “Boomer” the opportunity to down size square footage without sacrificing many of the perks and rewards that make the golden years so much more rewarding and enjoyable. I suggest you need not over-spend or live too high to benefit from all the riches that come with this RIGHTSIZED HOME lifestyle. Our current buyers realize that now is the time to purchase. Move forward to invest in your RIGHTSIZED HOME now as it is still a buyer’s market and if possible consider delaying the selling of your existing residence until the real estate down turn recovers and conditions are more in your favor. The residence could be rented. As a stock market guru would suggest buy your RIGHTSIZED HOME low and sell your existing residents high. However, if not possible seek out a qualified realtor who can help you price your home right and stage it right to move you forward now. As the commercial would suggest this can be “Priceless”! We “Boomers” know the train has left the station and if we are not aboard we will be left behind. For many of us we are on the other side of “LIVING THE DASH”, poem by Linda Ellis, and I suggest do not delay to enjoy the expectations you have yearned, toiled and anticipated for in years past. The time for your action is now.
